7 month-old baby Yuri update

Yuri is 7 months old. Unlike many other babies around this time, she hasn't crawled yet. I don't mind she develops a bit slowly. She eats solids now twice a day. She loves them and enjoys eating them.
Here are some her recent pictures and videos. Enjoy them! :)

2ne1 style ;) (Especially Sandara Park Style)

My sister got her some clothes for her, and I dressed her with one of them. She looked like a boy with it, so I had to put pink sunglasses to make her look a bit more like a girl. People still ask us whether she is a boy or a girl even though we dress her up with pink since she has no hair. :)

I think she is starting to understand what I am saying. (I guess. hehe) When I say 'high five!' she puts her hand high up to do it. So darling. hehehe

She is a bit being fussy in this video. She was tired since it was her nap time. She has been hating her tummy time mostly. However, today she looked not minding being on her belly. I wanted to record her not being fussy on her tummy, but I failed because she was tired. So, I want to believe that she was not fussy because of the tummy time but her tiredness. :)

I say 까꿍(KaKoong) to her. It is the same thing as Peekaboo.

5 Things that I like about USA

As you might know, I have live in 3 different countries so far, Korea, China, and now USA. I would like to talk about the good things about living in the USA.

1. There are so many different sweets!

I love sweets. My husband sometimes literally has to stop me from eating this sweets. I might be addicted to them. Not good.... :( Anyway, I love living here since there are so many different cookies, chocolates, cakes, candies, and they are really cheap compared to Korea or China. Chocolate was just ridiculously expensive in China and they only had one brand, Dove. We have so many different kinds here. I am loving it! lol.

2. Drivers are kind.

I don't know if they are ever so busy enough to go before pedestrians. They never go before us! They always let us pass first and go. I hardly hear any cars honk at other cars here. Maybe, that is happening because I am living in the country. But, still, drivers are nice.

3. People say hi to each other when they have an eye contact.

Again, it might be only happening in the country, but I like people saying hi to each other and don't look away and have a awkward moment. I went on a walk today with my baby, Yuri. Two girls(around 10) were biking and when they were passing me, they smiled at me at waved at me. That smile just made my day. :)

4. Kids play and have a lot of time to play.

Asian people don't have a lot of children. They usually have one or two, so they expect a lot from their children make them do a lot of stuff such as learning different things. Kids go to different 학원Hakwon( a private academy where kids learn English, Math, Piano, Taekwondo, Dance, Ballet, etc.) and they never have time to play with their friends. Even though you don't go there and play, you will not find any friends on the playground since all your friends go to Hakwons. However, Americans tend to have a bit more children than Asians, and they let their children play more than study. I think kids need to play a lot when they are young. That is what they need to do.

5. Baby stuff is quite cheap.

In Korea, baby stuff is really expensive. My husband bought a stroller for his sister's baby. He paid 400 dollars to buy one. Most of strollers are around 300 to 500 dollars which is just too expensive. Baby clothes are really cheap in the US, so I really like that since I just had a baby.

I think these are the things that I can think of right now. I enjoy being here!

This is the video that I made a bit ago about my misunderstanding about Americans. Enjoy this! :)

How to become a ESL teacher in Korea, China

I was an english teacher when I was in Korea and China. Many people ask me how they can go and teach English in Korea. Well... It is not that hard. First of all, you need to have a bachelor's degree on any major. However, if you want to get a really good job like teaching in a university or a foreign language school, you might need to have a degree on English or Education or Tesol, or even a master's degree. With a bachelor's degree, you can only find a job in a college in the country. So.. If you want to  be a teacher in Korea, you need to have a degree. To get a job, you can visit Dave's ESL Cafe. This is the best site where you can find Korea, China, Japan ESL jobs. Check the website. www.eslcafe.com
If you find a good job there, you can apply for the job and have an interview and hopefully get the job and fly to Asia!!
Since I worked in Korea and China, I can tell you some of the pros and cons in Korea and China. If you want to go to China, you need to know that you shouldn't expect too much money. My friends couple went to China and taught English in a university, and they really received small money from the school. You will have a place to stay free of charge, and they will provide airfare for your air tickets if you keep one year contract. But, the salary will not be much. If you want to learn some Chinese and are very interested in Chinese Culture, you can go there and enjoy it there. However, you might not be able to save up at all. You can just say it was a really good experience. hahaha. China is a really big country and has so many fascinating thins to see and places to go. You will not regret it, but again, you will NOT SAVE UP MUCH. I went to Beijing, and maybe if you go to Shanghai, it will be a different story because Shanghai's living cost is much higher and they pay you more. So you can try to choose to go to Shanghai instead of Beijing. If the pay is similar, it might be better to come to Beijing because its living cost is lower than Shanghai.
If you have a education degree and hold a teacher's certificate, you might want to apply for international schools in China. There are so many international schools which are looking for teachers.
Korea can be a good option. It has a wonderful transportation system, so you will be able to go anywhere by subway or bus. Korea's food is quite good and healthy. Chinese food is quite nice, but it is quite greasy. I don't like greasy food, so I usually went to Korean or Thai or Japanese restaurants in China. And... the important thing is they pay you much more than China.
Some might want to go to Japan since they pay more than Korea. However, I just personally don't want to live there even though I want to visit Japan and go sightseeing because they have quite frequent earthquakes, and that freaks me out. I don't want to experience any earthquakes. I think visiting Japan is  okay, and I don't need to go live there. lol. If you like Japan, you can go visit from Korea or China. I think that is enough for me.
Well. I think I covered quite a lot. You can research and find information on line and ask people around. Then, you should choose the place that you want to go by yourself.
I hope that this will help you. Thank you. :)

Yuri loves her daddy!

She loves her daddy a lot. She loves his attention. She likes it when James tickles or sings or holds her.

Went to Table Rock in Wyoming

We went hiking on Table Mountain in Wyoming. James carried Yuri in his front and a heavy backpack in his back. Our friends invited us to go hiking, but we didn't expect that hard, tough, and strenuous climbing. Anyway, we went all the way up to the top. When we were coming down... we were just so exhausted and didn't even have energy to talk. hahaha.
James was kinda had a smile when he started this hiking.

James started wondering when this will end and not enjoying this.

Yuri did really a good job climbing with us. :)
Finally, on the top of the peak! Table Rock!

Look at the clouds! All of a sudden, we had hails.

With our friends who tricked us to go with them. lol.
When we were coming down, James has no smile.

This video is taken when we were on the top.

I have a baby now.

I am in the states now. I think I can start blogging here now. I had a baby girl on Feb 26th, 2012 12:55AM. She was 4 lb. 14oz. She was healthy. I am in love with this little angel. Her name is Yuri. James and I love her so much.

This is when she was first born. She was a tiny baby, but her feet were quite big. I guess they took after her daddy's. My mom was with me through my labor. I appreciate what she had done for me.
